Summer Band Schedule 2009

Monday, Aug. 3rd, 9am-11am Percussion Rehearsal.

Tues. August 4th 10am -2pm Incoming 8th and 9th graders.

We will Be in the Bandnasium for Uniform, Instrument and Music check-out.

 

Wed. August 5th 10am -2pm incoming 10th, 11th and 12th graders.

We will Be in the Bandnasium for Uniform, Instrument and Music check-out.

 

Thurs. August 6th

9am-10am Trumpet Section Rehearsal

10am-11am Flute, Clarinet and Saxophone Rehearsal

2pm - 3pm Low Brass Rehearsal

 

Monday, Aug. 10th, 7pm-9pm Full Band Rehearsal

Tuesday, Aug. 11th, 7pm-9pm Full Band Rehearsal

IMPORTANT!!!!!!

We will do baseline testing for all 9th -12th grade band students who will participate in extracurricular activities on Tuesday morning, August 18, at 9:00 AM in the cafeteria.  All High School Band students must be tested before they can participate in their first contest/activity.

The Winters Blizzard Band

Earned the First

SWEEPSTAKES

In

33 Years!

 

The band traveled to Brownwood to compete in the Region 7 UIL Concert and Sight-reading competition. They earned a division I in both Concert and in the Sight-reading room. This combined with the Division I rating earned at Marching Contest in October resulted in the first Sweepstakes since 1976!

Way to go Blizzard Band!

Grading Policy

Performances are Required and will count as a TEST GRADE

Performances include: Football Games, Parades, Contests and Concerts

Daily Grades for Equipment, Music and General Preparedness

Friday Grade for Proper Uniform (Band shirt worn properly)

If you are going to miss a performance (for a legitimate reason) ie Death in family or illness (with doctor's note)

You MUST Call before the performance and let us know. The sooner, the better.
