WELCOME TO MY WEB SITE!! I have been teaching Sixth Grade at Winters Elementary for 'many' years, and I still feel it is what I was meant to teach. Reading, of course, is my specialty, but for the past few years, we have been self-contained, and I have taught ALL the subjects. Although I have enjoyed the experience very much, and I do see the value in the concept, I am happy to once again focus on my first two loves, Language Arts and Social Studies. We are engaging in a new curriculum called CSCOPE this year, and you can expect a few changes, hopefully for the better!

In Social Studies, we are studying the continent of Africa. Students are busy working on their notebooks for Africa.
In Reading, we are reading the novel, Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of Nimh, by Robert C. O'Brien.
We have been working on NOUNS in Language. Amazing what these kids don't know about nouns!!
The kids have agreed to 'fore-go' the Dairy Queen experience
for this six weeks to make a donation to the fund to help the
people of Haiti.
